The Health Equipment Loan Program (H.E.L.P.) began as a small seed planted while Stefanie Bartley was attending Eastern Mennonite University pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. The idea of a small
medical closet with a few pieces of medical equipment turned into a community-supported endeavor from all the churches in Churchville; Glossbrenner, St. James, St. Peters, and Loch Willow.
Stefanie says that the strength and motivation to continue the work of the non-profit came from powerful inspiration close to home—her mother. Watching her mother navigate health challenges fueled Stefanie’s
mission to sustain a nonprofit that supports families and individuals in need of medical equipment. Rooted in faith and a strong belief in the power of giving, H.E.L.P. makes a real difference by creating a
community resource for those facing similar challenges. The doors of H.E.L.P. opened in 2014, and the organization has grown far beyond Stefanie’s early vision.
Over the past decade, H.E.L.P. has flourished, evolving into a trusted beacon of support, thanks to unyielding dedication and committed board members who have championed the cause at every step.
Stefanie feels her work is guided daily by her faith in God, finding strength and purpose through Him to serve others. This spirit of service and compassion has transformed H.E.L.P. into a nonprofit that truly
embodies community support and care. Stefanie, board members and volunteers are proud to celebrate ten years of making a meaningful impact—and they look forward to many more.
